General Information
- Group health insurance is guaranteed Issue (nobody gets turned down no matter how many health problems)
- Employer required to pay at least half the employee’s premium
- Employer does not have to pay any part of the premium for employee’s family
- Employer paid portion of premium is fully tax deductible
- Minimum number of employees, including owner(s) is 4
- Plan has to be offered to everyone working 25 hours per week or more
- 75% must choose to enroll / No more than 25% can decline or “opt out”
- Employees covered by the Government (Military or Medicare) or covered by a spouse’s Group plan are not counted against the 25%
(Spouse & families on individual plans may or may not count depending on carrier chosen)
- Plans include maternity
- No Difference in Rates between Smokers & Non Smokers
- Even though it's guaranteed issued, Final price of insurance could vary by a plus
or minus or 15% depending on overall health of the group
- No long term commitments / Can terminate plan at the end of any month
Health Insurance
In order to get a group health insurance quote for your employees, fill out a group health census by clicking here. Within one week of filling out and turning in the census, you will receive group health quotes from the three least-expensive major carriers. Qualifications are: a minimum of 4 employees and 75% of full-time employees must agree to participate. Part-timers are ineligible and do not count toward the 75% ratio.
